Lake Mary Preparatory School’s dedication to community service reflects our deep belief that we are our best and truest selves when helping others.
Our students are encouraged and expected to make a positive impact on those around them.
Students at Lake Mary Prep participate in the Grant a Wish Foundation, hold concerts in hospitals, and perform various other acts of kindness. As a school, we devote four days a year to community service.
From packing goods for earthquake victims, planting flowers at a nursing home, to helping fill 8,000 envelopes for the MS150 Bike Race, our students put their hearts into helping others.
Year-Round Involvement at All Grade Levels
In elementary school, students conduct food drives at Thanksgiving and toy drives at Christmas, in addition to other activities.
One of our Middle School students' favorite projects is baking cupcakes that are sold to other students. The proceeds help purchase necessities for the CPS B.E.A.R. Room. This project provides vital items, like clothing, shoes and personal care supplies, for abused and neglected children.
In our Upper School, students create their own projects, with each advisory group selecting a project, handling the logistics and following through on all the details.
